Beef Tacos

Speedy and delicious. The ingredients that will see this dish stand out above other quickly improvised Tacos is the use of cinnamon. The Mexicans use it a lot. So should you. Equally spend the time sourcing some very good avocados for the Guacamole (this is no mean feat if you live in the UK, but the hunt will be ultimately very rewarding).


500g Beef Mince

1 large diced White Onion

2 cloves sliced Garlic

1 tsp Paprika

2 tbsp Tomato Purée

1 tsp Chilli powder

1 tsp Cinnamon powder

1 tbsp soft brown sugar

1 Black Beans or similar

1 Tinned Tomatoes

1 lrg sliced red chilli

Taco Shells


Sour Cream


Grated Cheddar Cheese

Sliced red chillie


Sliced Shallots (formerly Spring Onions)


Slowly sweat the onion & garlic in a little olive oil

Add the sliced chilli, tomato paste, paprika, chilli powder, cinnamon & sugar

Stir together and let everything become acquainted 

Add the Beef mince and brown

Add the tinned tomatoes and let it reduce down to a thick ragu

Add the beans and season

Allow to cool a little and serve with rice and the garnish in the taco shells
